~ Balance inner energies and tap into the spirit of collective radiance ~

Significance of Māsik Sivarātri

Falling on the 14th day of the waning moon in Vedic astrology, the energy for achieving union between pure consciousness and our essence is naturally elevated on this auspicious night.

Join Megan and Suzie in an evening of devotional chanting, including Siva’s Mahāmantra, Om Namah Sivāya, and a mini sound bath to release internal blocks to healing, harmonize inner energies, and open to an experience of bliss, grace and oneness.

What is kirtan?

Kirtan is a call and response communal chanting experience, part of the Bhakti tradition, which centers love and devotion. Kirtan is different from intellectual pursuits of wisdom and knowledge, as it opens directly into an embodied experience of peace, bliss, and oneness, bypassing the thinking mind.  Kirtan is also part of Nāda Yoga and Mantra Yoga, the yoga of sound and recitation of sacred mantra.  Sound waves and the sacred aspects of Sanskrit, and other sacred languages, open the chanter to the powerful embodiment of sound itself, impacting the body, mind and spirit.

What to expect:
*
Kirtan melodies (for the most part) are intentionally simple and based on drones to allow the chanter and community to merge and settle deeply into the sacred current of sound (nāda yoga) and peace, bliss, and devotion (Bhakti Yoga).

* Like everything we do in life, we meet ourselves through our practice.  We bring ourselves as we are, with all our joy and sorrow, confusion and wisdom, and allow the practice to gently transform us through the act of chanting, reciting sacred prayers, invoking peace and bliss, transforming suffering, immersing ourselves in sound, and being in community.

Come and experience the power and beauty of kirtan.

The kirtan will be followed by a mini-sound bath for restoration and integration of the beautiful qualities just cultivated.

We hope to see you there!

~Suzie & Megan
