Hi, I’m Sara. After working for many years as a licensed social worker, I ended up going out on permanent disability for chronic pain and mental health issues. During that time I continued to work a few hours a month and began a deep dive into the world of the mind-body connection. While learning about the brain’s neuroplasticity and the role that the nervous system plays in the development of chronic pain, I discovered how hypnosis can actually help create neuroplasticity.
In 2019, I opened a small private practice as a Certified Hypnotherapist and began specializing in chronic pain. Since that time I’ve completed additional training and have added more rapid relief modalities such as IEMT (Integral Eye Movement Technique), Brainspotting, and Ketamine Integration Coaching. I’m a member of the Association for the Treatment of Neuroplastic Pain and an IMET Practitioner.
In addition to specializing in neuroplastic pain, I help clients with a wide variety of challenges. My approach is trauma-informed, and includes psychoeducation, nervous system regulation, hypnotherapy and related change-work. I also recently became a group facilitator at the Breast Cancer Coalition of Rochester, where I’ll be offering a group for pain management.
I’m thrilled to have recently joined The Aligned Collective, and will be offering monthly workshops that focus on group hypnosis for issues related to pain, nervous system regulation, energy protection, cord cutting, goal setting and more. Check out https://www.the-aligned-collective.com/classes for up to date information.
Expressive writing and theater continue to play a large role in my life. Her show, Catharsis Time will be returning for its fourth year at the Rochester Fringe Festival this fall. I’ve also published two novels, Tiny House of God and Choosing Charity, through the Wild Rose Press. Both feature characters with chronic pain and mental illness. I also enjoy singing with the Rochester Women’s Community Chorus and acting in various community theater productions.
Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions! I hope our paths cross soon.
