Join Melody Osgood, Zach Osgood, and Alicia Hackett for Rooted & Released, a deeply immersive evening designed to guide you home to your body. We will weave together four complementary practices—Ear Seeds, ceremonial cacao, live soundscape, and somatic dance—to create a full-spectrum journey of grounding, heart-opening, and release.
The evening begins with Ear Seeds administered by Melody. This gentle, non-invasive auricular therapy involves placing small seeds on specific acupressure points on the ear. Known for their ability to stimulate the vagus nerve—the body's primary "rest and digest" pathway—these seeds work in concert with the nervous system to invite a state of calm and receptivity, preparing the body to fully receive the practices to come.
With the seeds in place, we turn our attention inward. Melody and Alicia will guide a heart-centered Cacao Ceremony, honoring the Indigenous roots of this sacred plant. We will share a warm bowl of ceremonial-grade cacao (infused with spices) to gently dilate the heart, focus the mind, and deepen our connection to self and community.
As we sip, Zach and company will envelop the space in a live Soundscape. Using gongs, drums, chimes, and wave drums, the sound washes over the group, entraining the brain and shifting us into a meditative state where tension can begin to dissolve.
From this softened, receptive place, Alicia will guide us into Somatic Dance. This is an invitation to move intuitively—not to perform, but to listen. With the support of the ear seeds and the cacao, we explore authentic expression, allowing the body to process, release, and celebrate.
We close the formal practice and open the circle for community connection, offering time to share and integrate the experience together.
What to Bring: Comfortable clothing you can move in, a water bottle, and an open heart. All are welcome—no dance or ceremony experience necessary.
